    Balaji HydroMet manufactures the BHM-H-CM3 Pygmy Type Water Current Meter for accurate water-velocity measurement in locations where the water depth is insufficient for using a standard-size current meter.

    The instrument is particularly suitable for shallow streams, small irrigation channels, minor canals, drainage channels, laboratory flumes, hydraulic models and low-velocity water-flow studies.

    The current-meter body and cup assembly are manufactured from chrome-plated brass. The rotating assembly consists of six hollow conical cups mounted on a brass star-shaped frame. A magnetic or fibre-optic contact chamber produces one pulse for every complete revolution of the cup wheel.

    The BHM-H-CM3 has a starting velocity of approximately 0.015 m/s and an operating range of 0.10 m/s to 1.50 m/s. Its high sensitivity makes it suitable for slowly flowing water and shallow-channel applications.

    The current meter is supplied with the DVI-V1 Direct Velocity Indicator and Logger. The DVI-V1 receives pulse signals from the meter, applies the programmed calibration equation and displays water velocity directly in m/s. It can also store field observations in non-volatile memory.
